This artwork consists of photographs and videos the artist recorded in the summer of 2017 while a ship called Kıbrıs 74 (Cyprus 74) was being used at the Kadıköy
pier construction site. When AYŞE is presented to the audience in 2024, on the fiftieth anniversary of the Cyprus Operation, it opens a window onto intertwined
reflections on recent history, geography, and political and urban decisions. The translation of the poem the artist wrote specifically for this installation is as follows:
maybe here / filling the sea bit by bit / a new land
